Information Kasteel Loenersloot
Loenersloot was not accessible for visitors for over 750 years. Baroness Martini Buys, who was the last resident of the castle, even tried to scare off visitors with a gun. When you visit Loenersloot, it almost feels like the baroness just left the room.
When baroness Martini Buys lived in Loenersloot, she only occupied some of the chambers. The kitchen was her favorite part of the castle because of its pleasant temperature.
The family of the baroness owned the castle for circa 200 years. During those years they collected special furniture, paintings, books, and porcelain. A great deal of this collection is still present in the castle. You can enjoy the collection during your visit.
An experienced guide tells you everything about the collection in the different rooms of the castle. Also, the turbulent history of the castle, its residents and their habits will be discussed.
You can visit Loenersloot at Friday and Saturday from April until November. The duration of the tour is 1,5 hour.
